SonyEricsson K850iThe SonyEricsson K850i is a 2007 model mobile multimedia phone. Mobiledia writes about SonyEricsson K850i’s camera, “The 5.0-megapixel camera with auto focus and Xenon flash produces true digital camera results. Even if users are not an expert photographer, the K850i does everything to help get the best possible shots. Photo fix automatically improves light balance in one click to make pictures as good as it can get. When taking a picture of a moving object, for example at a sports event, consumers can select BestPic and take nine pictures in one burst. Then simply choose the best and delete the rest.”

Since Nokia announced the N95 with a 5 megapixel camera, the pressure has been on Sony Ericsson, as the market leaders with their Cybershot range of cameraphones, to follow suit. The K850i looks to be their answer. The funny-looking square in the middle is the d-pad which merges with the number keypad to free up space for a decent sized screen.

The tri-band handset gets some impressive if not all that unusual specs, with QVGA display of unspecified size, GPRS and UMTS connectivity, and Bluetooth (with A2DP), but apparently not WiFi, as was rumored with the Sophia. All that’s squeezed into a slim 4.6 x 1.9 x 0.5 inch, candybar-style package. (via Engadget)

Letsgodigital.org reviews SonyEricsson K850i and writes about camera, “Even if you are not an expert photographer, the K850i does everything to help you get the best possible shots on your phone. Photo fix automatically improves light balance in one click to make your picture as good as it can get. When taking a picture of a moving object, for example at a sports event, you can select BestPic and take nine pictures in one burst. Then simply choose the best and delete the rest. ”

Cnet reviews the SonyEricsson K850i and writes, “One of the most notable changes (we’re inclined to say improvements, but there’s a reason we’re not) on the K850i is the automatic lens cover. The company has dropped the entire mechanical lens cover on the K850i, replacing it with an automatic one. The catch is that a layer of clear plastic now protects the cover. This might be a problem when fingerprints smudge that layer. On the K810i and the K800i, sliding down the lens cover automatically activates the camera. But on this new Cyber-shot, there’s a dedicated on/off button that does the job.”

MobileGazzete reviews the SonyEricsson K850i and notes, “The Sony Ericsson K850i measures 102 x 48 x 17mm and weighs 118 grams. The battery life is not known at the time of going to press. There are two colour variants: “Velvet Blue” and “Luminous Green”, although this colouring extends pretty much only as far as the controller pad and some piping down the side of the phone. The phone is slated for release some time during Q4 2007. There is also a K858c variant for China which loses 3G support and substitutes EDGE data instead”
