Sony Ericsson W880 Review

February 8th, 2007 · No Comments

Sony Ericsson W880The Sony Ericsson W880 is a 2007 model mobile phone. GSMarena reviews the Sony Ericsson W880 and writes, “Sony Ericsson W880 supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, E-AAC+, WAV, WMA, M4A and MIDI file formats. The Walkman media player is version 2.0 and features improved interface. We have seen the 2.0 version already in our Sony Ericsson W850 review and we are more than pleased with it. It has several equalizer presets including the proprietary Mega Bass. The player can be set to run in background so you can do other things with the phone while listening to music. When in background mode, there is an indication of the name of the song and artist of the track currently playing in the top part of the screen. The control of the player is intuitive and really easy to use. It even displays the album cover during playback if there is one.”

MobileBurn reviews the Sony Ericsson W880 and has this to say, “the true attraction for the Sony Ericsson W880 is the media capability it hides in its attractive shell. Coming packaged with a 1GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) memory card and including the Walkman Player 2.0, the W880 is ready for music. Up to 18 hours of music listening time can be achieved with a single charge of the battery, and a flight mode is included to allow you to use the phone’s Walkman capabilities in areas where phone use is prohibited. A 2.0 megapixel camera also somehow finds its way into the handset, as does a front-facing camera for video calling. A QVGA (240×320 pixel) resolution 1.8″ display, capable of showing up to 262k colors, provides a window to the handset’s functionality.”

MobileWhack.com reviews the Sony Ericsson W880 and writes, “The Sony W880 is the perfect phone for those who like extra entertainment features. The phone includes a number of handy music applications, including Walkman Player 2.0 and Disc2Phone, which allows you to enjoy your music anywhere. The included software also makes it simple to transfer music to your phone, and scroll through the playlists once on your phone. With the included 1GB Sony Memory Stick Micro (M2), you’ll be able to store up to 900 full-length songs. The phone also features a nice 2-megapixel camera.”

TechDigest.TV reviews the Sony Ericsson W880 and writes, “At just 9.4mm thin, the W880/W888 is the slimmest Sony Ericsson phone yet. Available in brushed steel, silver or black and with a 1.8-inch QVGA 262k TFT display, it has a 1GB Memory Stick Micro included, enough for around 900 full length tracks. Also featured is Bluetooth audio streaming, a 2 megapixel camera, video recording and playback, picture blogging, full HTML browsing with RSS feeds and a strong battery life - up to 18 hours music playback. It should be available in the coming weeks, pricing to”

InfoSync World reports about Sony Ericsson W880, “Except for the fact that it will be a Walkman music phone, Sony Ericsson has released no official information about the W880. The product’s numbering places it between the current W810 and W950 models. The W950 runs the Symbian OS with a touch screen and supports UMTS for high-speed networking; the W810 is less of a smartphone, but does feature a 2-megapixel camera and EDGE network capabilities. Pictures of the W880 show what looks to be a front-facing camera, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see this feature lopped off for the U.S. carriers who have yet to support it. We expect to see this phone, or at least learn more about it, in the second quarter of 2007. “
