The Samsung E900 is a 2006 model mobile phone. CNET reviews the Samsung E900 and writes about touchpad, “An interesting feature of the touchpad is seen when you start the phone up–the touchpad only displays two soft keys at the top that let you access the menu and contacts, and the send and end call keys at the bottom. When you switch the MP3 player on however, a further three buttons are illuminated and you see a play/ pause key and a forward and back key for searching through tracks.”
Mobile-review reviews the Samsung E900 and has this to say about camera, “Samsung E900 has a 2 Mpix camera with CMOS matrix (similar to that of X820). The camera interface is standard for the company’s products - you can rotate an image vertically, turn off the shutter sound. Image compression quality is adjusted from the menu - Super Fine, Fine, Normal, Low. The ISO value may vary from 100 to 1600, but the default value is handier. White balance has several levels, and Auto is set by default. Image taken in maximal resolution gets processed in 2 seconds (1600×1200 pixels). The handset’s camera can boast neither auto-focus nor macro mode. Considering the camera quality, it would be better to take snaps only in sunny weather; when shooting against the sun, as the camera focuses on the brightest spots of the image. Exposition determining system does its best when the objects have contrasting parts – e.g. posters. The model equals to Nokia N70 in terms of image quality, as hardware specifications of both devices coincide. At the same time, the photos taken by these handsets are worse than those by Sony Ericsson K750 or Nokia N90. ”
Mobile Phone UK reviews the Samsung E900 and writes, “Functionally, everything about the E900 is good. Starting with the display, this is a best-in-class TFT display with 262k colours and 240 x 320 pixels. The camera is a CMOS 2 megapixel camera with digital zoom and flash, plus a video recording option. Not the very best, when compared with the latest high-end phones from Sony Ericsson, but a good second-best. There’s a handy mirror for self portraits. Wireless printing using Bluetooth is supported with a PictBridge-compatible printer. Like the D600, there’s a TV-out connection, so you can view your recorded photos and videos directly on a TV.”
LordPercy reviews the Samsung E900 and writes, ‘The TFT LCD screen displays all images perfectly, also allowing video playback and recording on the device. The 262k colour screen also means that all 2 megapixel images will be displayed in fantastic quality, and can be transferred between devices through the now standard Bluetooth. The E900 is a Tri band GMS 900 / 1800 / 1900 phone so it should be good for holiday travel plus it has data support with Edge capability.”
Pocket-lint reviews the Samsung E900 and writes, ‘As the successor to the D600 the E900 ticks all the boxes, the interface although retro in its design is easy to use and will be second nature to other Samsung users, who liked the idea of the chocolate phone however weren’t too sure of the interface… where the Samsung E900 wins out is its feature set: 2 megapixels compared to 1.3, in-built loud speaker and like the D600 a TV out connection to share photos and video with others.”
