Nokia N95, great phone, poor battery

June 11th, 2007 · No Comments

Nokia N95 In the world of mobile phones, more power usually equals less battery time. This is true with the Nokia N95, a smartphone with plenty of features. Indeed, it has some of the best features available on a mobile phone today, but it comes at a price.

The Nokia N95 does everything it offers well. This mobile actually opens two different ways; one way for the keypad, and another for multimedia controls. A little over two and a half inches of screen size and support for 16 million colours make the design and layout of the phone very admirable.

An onboard 5 mega-pixel camera is as good as it gets with a camera phone. Taking video footage or pictures with this kind of resolution can easily beat most other mobile phones, and actually provides good quality picture. Auto focus, flash, and a handy digital zoom can even top some digital cameras in features. Video calling is another handy feature for when talking just isn’t enough.

The N95 has internet options that are extended with the ability to access Wi-Fi spots. A little help from EDGE and 3G technology make data transfer fast and easy. Extra connectivity is provided with USB 2.0 and Bluetooth support. Connecting to other electronic devices and internet have never been easier on a mobile phone- and is matched by few.

A little extra fun for gamers can be had through downloading Java based games. An above average storage space of 160 megabytes ensures that space will almost never be in short supply. For the few who need more, the storage can be upgraded to as high as 2 gigabytes via memory card. All of the features of the N95 are performance intensive, and this drains battery life. Charging everyday will most likely become a habit, despite the six and half hours rated talk time that the N95 claims.

It would be hard to find a mobile phone better than the Nokia N95. Everything it claims to do, it does even better. Over the top upgrades, such as the 5 mega-pixel camera or FM radio, make this mobile phone a great all around phone that can appeal to most age groups. The N95 is recommended to almost anyone if money is no object.
