Nokia 6000
Mobile Phone UK reviews the Nokia 6600 and writes, ” The Nokia 6600 phone features advanced imaging features, including a bright 65,536-colour TFT display and a camera equipped with digital zoom (640 x 480 pixel resolution; standard, portrait, and night modes; 2x digital zoom; self-timer).”

Mobileburn reports about Nokia display, “The 6600’s 65k color display is the single most compelling aspect of the device. It is everything a display should be: bright, colorful, and easy to view in all conditions. It really is top notch. Like the 7650’s 4k color display, the 6600’s display has a highly reflective backing and can be easily seen in even the harshest of lighting conditions. The bright white backlighting assures that the display works equally well in darker situations, too. It has the same resolution as the other Series 60 devices, 176×208, though it is quite large with its nearly 62mm diagonal dimension. No matter how you size it up, it is truly a brilliant display - in all senses of the word.” They also says, “the new 6600 is quite a bit lighter than the initial Series 60 device, the 7650. It even manages to shave a few grams off of the 3650’s weight, coming in at 125.5g without a SIM and the included MMC card (127.5 with those). Physically, too, it is smaller. Even without the sliding keypad of the 7650, the 6600 still manages to be the shortest of the three brothers, coming in at only 109mm in length. Still the 6600 doesn’t feel small by any stretch of the imagination. It is 6mm shorter than a P900, but 1mm wider and has basically the same thickness. Considering the much larger display and greater functionality (and cost, of course) of the P900, you have to wonder if the 6600 couldn’t have been smaller.”

CNET reviews and writes, “Deviating slightly from the standard Nokia candy bar shape, the gray-and-black Nokia 6600 is relatively nondescript–don’t expect passersby to point and stare. With its curved, bulging sides, the handset is short and squat, only slightly smaller (4.3 by 2.3 by 1 inches; 4.4 ounces) than most other smart phones in its class. That said, the 6600 felt comfortable in our hands, and it fit snugly in a jeans pocket.”

Infosync World writes about the Nokia 6600 camera that, “the Nokia 6600 also harbours a VGA resolution camera, which offers quality superior to that found in most other smartphones. Now sporting a 2x digital zoom, the white balance appears to have improved from previous Nokia smartphones, but apart from these factors there are no changes to an otherwise excellent setup which includes a night mode yet unmatched by any other vendor.”

Mobile Review thinks that, “The design is typical for 6000 series; it’s made for the classical segment. A joystick is located in the middle which besides being four-directional also reacts to pressure. At first it seems like Nokia’s designers didn’t want to create another original design, like indeed the Nokia 3650 had. But after I’ve used this phone for a while I got the strong feeling that Nokia’s designers forgot how to create an ergonomic keyboard. Each lower row is shorter than the previous one. This causes certain difficulties while using the phone, although some models have even worse ergonomics, so it’s still acceptable. Overall, the keypad can be rated as average (by the way, tkeys are made of plastic) or a bit worse. You can get used to them, as well as to the call/end call buttons which are really small and located on the sides from the screen”
