Nokia 6500Mobile-Review reviews the Nokia 6500 classic and writes about display, “The Nokia 6500 Classic utilizes a QVGA display, powered by TFT technology (16 mln colors, which are all bright and vibrant) with a resolution of 240×320 pixels (diagonal of 2 inches, 31×41 mm). The manufacturer hasn’t included any type of backlighting adjustment, i.e. the screen is always evenly backlit, which allows saving a bit of charge. Nevertheless the user is enabled to choose standby screensaver and backlighting mode (on/off) – in the latter case, if the backlighting will be turned off, the information will remain visible indoors but only at certain angles. Apart from that you can completely switch off the screen, so that it will turn black with no information being displayed on it. In light of the screen having a mirror layer, it doesn’t fade in the sun and ensures that all data will be still readable”.

Letsgodigital.com reviews the Nokia 6500 and writes, “Nokia is a recognized trailblazer of the 3G revolution and a pioneer in the use of new and innovative materials for mobile phones. With the Nokia 6500 classic, Nokia is skillfully combining these areas of expertise to deliver a compelling blend of design and technology at a mid-range price point,” said Peter Ropke, Senior Vice President, Broad Appeal Business Unit, Nokia. “While a feature like the aluminum “loop” structure separates the Nokia 6500 classic from the pack, it is the skillful balance of features and style that will make it an irresistible cell phone to customers.”

MobileBurne reviews the Nokia 6500 and writes, “The 6500 Classic comes with a unique configuration of dual-band WCDMA support on top of its more conventional quad-band GSM/EDGE support. This candy bar handset supports the normal 2100MHz band used in Europe and much of the rest of the world, as well as one of the two North American UMTS bands: 850MHz. This means that the 6500 Classic should be able to get EDGE data on any GSM network, and manage 3G UMTS connections in most parts of the world, where available, as well. It doesn’t have tri-band UMTS support, which would have been great, but this is certainly a step in the right direction.”

The Nokia 6500 classic is only 9.5 mm. thick. It is made from 360 degrees of anodized aluminum and is individually polished. It has dual band 3G technology and a full 1 GB of internal memory means that the Nokia 6500 classic has capacity for far more pictures, videos, contacts, songs, messages and other content than the vast majority of other mid-tier mobile phones. It is in the GSM/EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 and WCDMA 850/2100 systems. It is also equipped with a 2 megapixel camera and 8x digital zoom. (via)
