Nokia 6131 was introduced in Q2 2006. Good Gear Guide reviews the Nokia 6131 and writes about camera, “The 6131 includes a 1.3 megapixel camera that will do the job for happy snappers, but it isn’t of a good enough quality to take serious photos. The camera doesn’t include a flash and suffers from average colour reproduction. It also struggles with poor image noise levels and lacks detail and sharpness. The camera has a few settings including grayscale, sepia, negative and solarise effects, a 10 second self-timer and night mode. There’s also a video recorder, but its quality is similarly poor.”
Slashphone reviews the Nokia 6131 and also notes about camera, “The 1.3 megapixel camera comes with 8x zoom and an impressive range of options. You can set the image quality to 3 different levels, basic, normal or high. You can also have 6 choices of image size, from 120 x 160 to 1024 x 1280 pixels. Similarly, you can choose between a few clip quality and size for video recordings. There are also 5 different colour effects, like “sepia” and “negative”, that you can apply to both the still and video cameras. The still camera comes with the basic functions like night mode and a 10-second self-timer but doesn’t come with flash. There’s also image sequencing which allows you to take 3 shots with a single click. The 6131 has a PictBridge printing solution which allows the user to connect their phone to a compatible printer using a USB cable & print their photos very simply.”
GSMArena reviews the Nokia 6131 and writes about keypad, “Keys distribution is standard. The four-way navigation key with its confirming central area is surrounded by four functional keys: two context ones, and the classical green and red receivers. The navigation key has been elaborated very well. Its chromium-plated frame stands out above the surrounding surface making touch orientation smooth and easy. The oval middle area of the control key is no harder to control either. Functional keys are not physically separated, but they are large enough not to complicate finger control.” Andrew Lim from CNET writes, “Above the keypad is the main screen, but unlike the screen on the outside, the internal screen is QVGA and displays up to 16.7 million colours. It’s bright and easy to read, but the font size on the main page and menu could be a little larger. Fortunately, you can adjust the size of the font in messages, contacts and the Web browser. You can use the both the internal and external screens as a viewfinder for the camera.”
MobileBurn reviews the Nokia 6131 and writes, “Flipping open the Nokia 6131, the user is greeted by a large 16 million color QVGA display, the likes of which is usually reserved for smart phones. The screen magic does not stop there though, with even the external display capable of displaying 262k colors. More than just a one trick pony, the Nokia 6131 also sports a 1.3 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom, Bluetooth, a hot-swappable microSD slot, and an email client supporting attachments. While not as innovative as Nokia would have you believe, the 6131 also has an auto-flip mechanism for one-handed opening, though in practice this feels very cheap.”
lordpercy.com reviews the Nokia 6131 and writes, “Storage is not massive at 32mb onboard but with a micro SD slot included it is possible to get another 512mb card added to give you a reasonable level of space which you can then fill with pictures form the 1.3 mega pixel camera or more likely a bulging address book. Connectivity is taken care of with Nokias pop port USB function and also the now standard Bluetooth allowing you to connect a headset or to a car kit.”
“Enjoying music on the go is also easy with the Nokia 6131 as the phone includes a built-in digital music player and FM stereo radio. Captured moments and favourite music can be stored on the optional hot-swappable microSD memory card, offering storage for a wide selection of images or music files.”, - via
