Nokia 6103 Review

Nokia 6103Nokia 6103 was introduced in 2006 Q1. Pocket-Lint reviews the Nokia 6103 and writes, “It’s a classic clamshell device, and is an obvious update of previous entry-level Nokia the 6101 - the clue is in the name. This includes the rather unsightly protruding antennae, although the 6103 is compact enough so that this isn’t much of a problem. The matt black finish on the outside is pretty attractive, although open it up and you still get the impression that Nokia isn’t at home with phones that flip. The screen is a basic 128 x 160 pixel number with up to 65k colours, but seeing as the camera is only VGA and you’re not going to be downloading videos then this is certainly adequate.”

Eric Bernatchez from Cellphone reviews the Nokia 6103 and writes, “That said if you’re not as demanding as I am and if you have super good ears, you are going to love the Nokia 6103: the keypad is absolutely marvelous, seriously. Big, raised keys with good contrast. Wow! If only all cell phones had such a good keypad. Battery life is good, it has FM radio and MP3 playback, EDGE high seed and Bluetooth. No doubt: they put the effort in it. And if the volume satisfacts you, go for it in a heartbeat. Otherwise, I’d hear you if you skipped it.”

Mobile-Review talks about Nokia 6103 phonebook, “The phone memory can contain about 500 contacts; however, the number can reduce at the maximum possible numbers entered for each contact. About 5 numbers can be bound to a name, each allows selecting a type (mobile, work, home, fax). Besides, about 5 extra fields can be filled for each contact - e-mail address, post address, PTT, WEB, or a text note. A picture or a photo can be assigned to a contact; finally, you can create a tag for voice dialing.”

Mobiledia writes about design, “Diverging from the color scheme of the 6101, the 6103 features a black-lined silver exterior, with a 4K-color external screen highlighting incoming and basic information such as signal strength and battery charge level. Above, a built-in 0.3-megapixel camera is activated by pressing the Camera Key situated to the right edge, capturing photos up to 640 x 480 px in size.”

CNET also writes about Nokia 6103 design and notes, “It’s important to get one thing straight from the outset — the 6103 isn’t a fashion phone, a la the Motorola Razr or LG’s KG800. Sure, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the 6103 certainly isn’t an eye-sore, but you won’t see Paris Hilton strutting down Rodeo Drive with one in her clutches any time soon.”
