Installation
I installed the vga version of Quartz 2 to my compact flash card with no problems. The game will use 0.5 to 1.0 MB and needs 1.0 to 1.5 MB to run. The game can be used on either a Pocket PC 2002 platform or Windows Mobile 2003 platform and QVGA or VGA versions are available from Clickgamer.

Playing Quartz 2
You can play either Single Player or Multiplayer. In Single Player you can choose the Standard, Timed or Puzzle versions. I played Standard version. You can pick your starting level as well – up to Level 9. I did not try multiplayer, but according to the description of the game you can play via Bluetooth, WI-FI or TCP/IP via the cradle. And you can always play against the “CPU.” Because the game is based on matching colored blocks, I found the Color Blind Mode feature under options an extremely insightful addition.

You can adjust music and sound effects volume or mute the whole lot. The “music” is a monotonous beat that you can tune out. You can minimize and pause the game. If you decide to quit the game, the game is over.

When you start, your playing field is half-way filled with colored quartz blocks and a colored block floats at the top which you can select placement for using the d-pad or the stylus – I preferred the stylus. You can also see the next two blocks that are coming up. You can switch these, but, at a price. That red bar . . . it fills up. When that gets filled black blocks fall and obstruct your color matching. They can be blown up when you match several blocks around them or by use of the “nuclear” bomb block (that green one with the radiation symbol).

There are several “cool special power-up and power-down stones (biohazard, wildcard, skull, nuclear, fire stones and more).” Some of these stones you have to figure out on your own. And from what I can tell from playing, they seem to function differently as you progress in levels – especially the “wild card” stone which changes to the color of the stone next to it.

You can register your high scores on line and as of this writing the highest score is 416,070 points. And those numbers in the lower right – that is a clock. Cool feature!

Conclusion
This is not a clone of any other puzzle game I have played. It is a fresh, fun and addictive game that is easy to learn and comes complete with outstanding graphics.

Instructions
Use the directional control, or 2, 4, 6, 8 to move the on screen cursor around, and use fire, or 5 to select a vehicle, then you can move the vehicle around and press fire (or 5) to deselect.

During the game you can pause using the 0 (zero) key, and then you`ll have access to the in game menu. 5 will reset the level, 1 will quit the game, and 0 will continue the current game.

The enemy is everyone who has a gun. Watch out for people who seem to be good citizens in later stages of game. Some of them are just waiting for the right moment to pull out a weapon and kill you. Shoot only bad guys or you will lose your sheriff\’\’s star. Losing all of them is the same as running out of lives.

Python is a game in which you control a snake through a maze (each level has a more sophisticated maze) trying to feed him with healthy candies and avoid the poisoned mushrooms. Python allows you to choose the speed (…out of three possible speeds). The Python shareware version is called Python Junior. It includes three levels only (the full version includes twenty levels!!!). Use the Navigation keys to help Python to grow up and to get a bonus. When the level ends and its length is the maximum possible length for that specisic level, Python moves on to the next level. Python can eat apples (yellow balls) and get one point and one more unit to his body. From time to time a magic candy (blue ball) is shown. If Python eats the magic candy he receives a big number of points which is influenced by the speed and the level. Please be aware of the mushrooms (red balls). If Python eats a mushroom his health get hurt, his length becomes shorter in one unit and you lose points. If Python eats many mushrooms, he might die because of poisoning. Press 1, 2 or 3 to change Python`s speed. Press the fire key to start playing the game.
