PCmag reviews the Apple iPhone and writes, “Fun new interface for navigating multimedia. Huge screen looks amazing. Terrific Web browser. Syncs well with PCs and Macs. YouTube function is great. Functions flow seamlessly into each other. Built-in speaker for voice calling and music.” CNET reviews the Apple iPhone and has this to say about display, “he iPhone boasts a brilliant display, trim profile, and clean lines (no external antenna of course), and its lack of buttons puts it in a design class that even the LG Prada and the HTC Touch can’t match. You’ll win envious looks on the street toting the iPhone, and we’re sure that would be true even if the phone hadn’t received as much media attention as it has. We knew that it measures 4.5 inches tall by 2.4 inches wide by 0.46 inch deep, but it still felt smaller than we expected when we finally held it. In comparison, it’s about as tall and as wide as a Palm Treo 755p, but it manages to be thinner than even the trend-setting Motorola Razr. It fits comfortably in the hand and when held to the ear, and its 4.8 ounces give it a solid, if perhaps weighty, feel. We also like that the display is glass rather than plastic.”

The Wall Street Journal’s Walt Mossberg and Katherine Boehret have posted their review of the Apple iPhone:

- No way to copy/paste text
- Microsoft’s Exchange system support
- Voice call quality was good, but not great
- Can’t record video
- No Adobe Flash support
- Songs can’t be set as ringtones

David Pogue reviews the Apple iPhone and writes, “The iPhone comes with an installed SIM card, the tiny circuit board that stores your account information and phone number. Apple says that you should be able to replace it with any recent AT&T card, once you activate it in iTunes. No other company’s SIM card works in the iPhone… It can sync with Address Book or Microsoft Entourage on the Macintosh, Outlook, Outlook Express on Windows, or Yahoo’s address book on the Web. If you add appointments or phone numbers to the iPhone, they are added to your computer the next time you sync.”

Edward Baig reviews the Apple iPhone, “For starters, iPhone is a breeze to set up and fun to use, evident from the moment you slide your finger across the screen to unlock it. It’s a wonderful widescreen iPod and fabulous picture viewer. Smart sensors change the orientation of the display from portrait to landscape mode, based on how you hold the device and what you are doing at the time. Once you get the hang of its “multitouch” interface — give it a few days — you won’t have to schlep a separate iPod and cellphone in your pocket.

No question, the iPhone is striking to look at. The revelation is that it’s also comfortable to hold and touch. Mostly black and silver with a stainless-steel bezel surrounding the top surface, it’s light (under 5 ounces) and less than a half-inch thick, or roughly two iPod Nanos placed on top of each other.
